Rien à declarer (2010, Dany Boon)

1993 - after walls also the frontiers fall in most of Europe. Some, most, were happy about that, others were not. In some places in Europe people hate their neighbors on the other side of the fence. So it seems to be between Belgium and France, at least in this film. On both sides of the border there are, at least in this film, hillbillies of different kind. Frittes here, Camembert there. This might be mildly funny, but after some time such jokes become not only tedious, but also embarrassing. If you don't have enough stuff to fill 108 minutes, then don't try it.
We have also a pair of star-crossed lovers from the respective side. They have to face the chauvinists around, Mathias and Louise. And some douchebags who try to make a living as contrabandisst.
In general it is not so funny to make fun of non-urban people. There are some nice gags here, but a lot of visual and physical humor. A little bit of trimming might have helped a lot to make this nostalgic movie more enjoyable.
6/10
