La marque des anges - Miserere (2013, Sylvain White)

White is working mainly for the television. He has directed episodes of different crime series. The general level of complexity is not very high in these productions, so maybe the complexity of a novel by Jean-Christophe Grangé could be too much to handle for him.
We start in the desert with traffickers of children. Interpol agent Salek finds a clue in a name list. However, #1 on the list is already murdered. He was choir leader and friend of inspector Kasdan. Salek and Kasdan are opposites, but they manage to solve the case.
Actually there are no big twists in the plot, everything is just straightforward, almost nothing more than decent TV entertainment. But there are still some scenes that are fixed in memory, e.g. when Kasdan looks out on the city lights of Paris we understand the amount of his loneliness.
Probably because of the name of Grangé some  well-known actors don't consider themselves too good for such a production. It is also obvious that there is good chemisty between Dépardieu and Joey Starr (whom I might have seen before). Fogettable.
5/10
