Usta (Bahadir Karatas 2009)

I guess that only a minor number of films is distributed internationally. Most films probably never leave their home country. If you search in the big IMDb you will never find these films as the database's first guess.
Try to find the Turkish movie Usta. They want to show you the much more famous movie The Master, but with persistence the database can find also this movie. It seems that this is until now the only cinema film Karatas has directed.
This is not a great movie, but still worthwhile to watch. It is about following one's dream without losing the grip on reality.
Dogan is a mechanic with a dream. He wants to build a single-engine plane. He invests every minute of his free time into this dream and forgets almost that he has a wife. To save his marriage, he gives up his project, however when their boy continues to build the plane on his own, Dogan learns how reconcile his dream and his duty. It is  a charming film with a view on the life of normal Turkish people somewhere in
the province. Maybe not outstanding, but still quite watchable.
This is available on a youtube channel of No More Suskunlar - Sorry! Most films from this channel have disappeared. I wonder if some busy film agents were putting pressure on either youtube or this user. The user was obviously an enthusiast. This channel made available films that we couldn't have seen elsewhere. If it was the responsibility of the producing firm that these films are no more accessible, then these producers are big jerks, because after such an action they can be certain that nobody out side Turkey will see their products.
